I have always been impressed with how long it took to develop a vehicle for sale in the U.S. It took years, with countless miles of testing at an automaker’s proving grounds before a car would be ready for production.
But all of a sudden, all the protocols that have served this industry for decades are being thrown out in the rush to produce self-driving vehicles. And for some crazy reason, many states are allowing testing of the prototypes on public roads.
